How to Find the Right Nose Surgery Clinic?

Key Tips from a Plastic Surgeon

Hello,
This is Dr. Kyoungmook Lee from Objet Plastic Surgery.

Since the beginning of this year, starting from January, we have been seeing more and more patients visiting our clinic.
And now in February, this trend is still continuing, which we are truly grateful for.

Winter is usually a popular season for plastic surgery in Korea. Many people take advantage of year-end holidays, Lunar New Year, and school breaks to finally take time for surgery and recovery.

Thanks to your continued trust, our entire team has been working very hard these days. Sometimes even late into the night. 🙂

Especially since last December, we have noticed a clear increase in patients who are interested in rhinoplasty consultations.

Because we are known for handling complex cases—such as bulbous noses, hump noses, and revision surgeries—we are meeting many different types of patients with very different concerns.

After meeting so many people, I started to realize that most patients actually ask very similar questions when they are trying to find a “good rhinoplasty clinic.”

And I kept thinking, “If patients knew this earlier, their consultations would be much easier.” So today, I decided to write this post.

It may feel a little personal, but I hope it can be helpful.

Trendy Nose Shapes vs. Your Natural Look

If you search about rhinoplasty online, you will probably see many “trendy” nose styles—straight noses, softly curved lines, high bridges, and so on.

Many patients come to my office with reference photos and say,
“I want something like this. Something trendy.”

I understand that.
Of course, everyone wants to look good.

But at Objet Plastic Surgery, we do not design surgery only based on trends.

In plastic surgery, trends change very quickly.
What is popular today may feel outdated in just a few years.

More importantly, every person has a different face, different bone structure, and different overall image.

When surgery only follows trends, the patient’s natural beauty can easily disappear.

That is why we focus much more on finding the nose shape that fits you, not just what is popular online.

The nose is in the center of the face.
So even a small change can affect the whole impression.

Many patients say, “My nose is too low,” and want a higher bridge.
But honestly, higher does not always mean better.

Some people mean the bridge is low.
Some mean the tip is low.
Some feel their nose looks low because it is wide or slightly droopy.

So first, we carefully analyze the face and overall balance. Then we design the surgery individually.

There is no “one perfect nose” for everyone.

Rhinoplasty Is Not Only About the Bridge

Many people think rhinoplasty means just making the bridge higher.

Technically speaking, raising the bridge itself is not very difficult. With implants, especially silicone, we can adjust the height quite freely.

That is why many patients ask me,
“How many millimeters will you raise it?”
During consultations, I hear this question very often.

Some patients even say, “Please make it as high as possible.”
But in my opinion, this is not the right way to think about rhinoplasty.

The most important part is actually the nasal tip.

The bridge is supported by bone, so it is strong.
But the tip is made of cartilage, which is much softer.
When you put an implant on the bridge, more pressure is added to the tip.
So the tip must be strong enough to support it.

If not, problems will happen later.

In revision consultations, the most common sentence I hear is:
“My nose tip has dropped.”

When I hear this, I usually ask first,
“Did your previous doctor explain how they would support your tip?”
Many times, the answer is no.

That is why I always explain this part very carefully to first-time patients.

Without proper support, the tip cannot hold the structure for a long time. Drooping is almost unavoidable.

So at our clinic, we first build a stable tip structure. Then we adjust the bridge height to match it.

Balance and stability come first.

Building a Nose Is Like Building a Building

Strong pillars are everything.

When you build a tall building, you need solid internal support.
Otherwise, it will eventually collapse.

The nose is very similar.
The nasal tip works like a pillar.

People often say, “I want to build up my nose.”
Actually, this expression is very accurate.

Without a strong foundation, no beautiful shape can last.

Our main goal is to create a nose that stays stable for many years, not just right after surgery.

Only after that foundation is done, we calculate the proper bridge height and proportions.

So, a clinic that only focuses on making the nose higher is not necessarily a good clinic.

Don’t Only Look for “The Best Clinic”

Rhinoplasty is a complex procedure that deserves careful consideration and thorough research.

If you are still unsure, I strongly recommend getting multiple consultations.

Many patients visit several clinics in Gangnam, which is known as Korea’s plastic surgery hub.
Due to intense competition, some clinics may emphasize only the most noticeable features during consultations.

That’s why I encourage you to gather as much information as possible—online or in person—before making your decision.

(Of course, I’m confident that once you consult with me, you won’t feel the need to go elsewhere. 😊)

If you feel you haven’t received enough detailed explanations, or if visiting multiple clinics feels overwhelming, you are always welcome at Objet Plastic Surgery.

Rather than offering standardized, mass consultations, we prioritize personalized, in-depth discussions for each patient who is genuinely considering surgery.

I hope this article has helped you understand rhinoplasty a little better.
I will continue sharing honest and useful information in the future.
Thank you very much for reading this long post!
